HOW?

How it Works

This is fundamentally a creative project, a film produced to tell the story of your family. But usually this is how it works:

Filming is done either on location, at your home, for a relaxed experience, or over zoom. The interviews are approximately 30 minutes each and range from ages 4-18. We make a film every three years (or as agreed).

On Location: Obviously, in-person interviews are better. We’re able to connect better with your kids, and get professional footage.

Over Zoom: The pandemic taught us these can work surprisingly well. We create the best footage possible - especially helpful if you’re outside of London.

How the Interviews Work:
  • We agree a plan for interviews at the start, we recommend starting with three ‘seasons’, as the magic is watching their personality evolve.
  • We agree a set of topics with you at the start, and ask questions from those topics that tend to illicit interesting responses.
  • We then explore those topics in multiple interviews.
  • We take a gentle, patient approach, and approach it with flexibility.
  • Ownership and Privacy:

The footage is yours. We store it safely until we make your film, when we deliver both the film and the raw, unedited footage.

  • If you have the films edited annually, you get the footage annually… although films improve when edited across multiple years.
  • We do not publish your footage anywhere without permission.
  • We do not sell any of your data to anyone, ever.
  • If we went out of business, you own the footage, not us.
  • If we were unable to make your film, for any reason, we would send you all the unedited footage, immediately.
